Fractional operations advisory

Zero to $1.5M.
Now I'm packaging how.

Eight years co-founding Trident SPS — a B2B distributor that grew from a blank QuickBooks file to 65+ active accounts — taught me what actually moves a small business and what's just noise. Now I'm offering that experience as a fractional advisor.

About

My dad bet on me before
I knew what I was doing.

In 2017, my father Bruce brought me into Trident SPS — a B2B distributor he was building from scratch. I was the new guy. He was the veteran. What I didn't know yet was that within twelve months, he was going to hand me the mission that turned the company from a startup into a real business.

Dollarama Canada was transitioning out of 30,000+ reusable totes across twelve facilities in the US and Canada. We had ten days to buy them out, consolidate them into one warehouse in Montreal, and clear them through customs. I'd been on the job less than a year. The logistics were chaos. The paperwork was a mountain. Bruce didn't step in to rescue me.

He believed I could pull it off. So I pulled it off.

That deal was the moment Trident SPS started growing. It also became the foundation of everything I've done since — operations under pressure, cross-border logistics, customs, vendor relationships, all of it. But the most important lesson wasn't tactical. It was something Bruce had been showing me from day one:

"We operate on our relationships — not around the products. We sell our services first, and let the product speak for itself."

Eight years later, we've grown Trident SPS to $1.5M+ in annual revenue across 65+ active accounts. We did it lean. We did it without venture capital, without a sales team, without most of the things small business owners are told they need.

Bruce supports this next chapter. He sees what I see: there are thousands of small business owners who never had a Bruce in their corner — someone who would bet on them, hand them the impossible task, and trust them to figure it out. I'm trying to be that for them.

The method

Three pillars.
One operator.

Eight years at Trident SPS, distilled into the three things that actually compound at the sub-$5M tier. Fractional. Sleeves up. Beside you, not above you.

01 / Relationships

Sell the service. Let the product speak.

Most small businesses lose deals because they lead with what they sell instead of how they show up. We rebuild your customer cadence around trust, presence, and response time — the things competitors can't undercut and won't copy. Relationship is the moat.

02 / Operations

Systems that survive chaos.

QuickBooks. CRM. Inventory. Logistics. Customs. The boring infrastructure that keeps a real business from collapsing under its own growth. I build the operational backbone I wish I'd had on day one at Trident — so the business compounds instead of cracks.

03 / Execution

I handle it.

Logistics. Order management. Customs paperwork. Vendor calls. Big projects with impossible deadlines. The unsexy work that keeps a small business moving forward. I sit beside the owner and I do what needs doing — whatever the team, the customer, or the supplier needs handled.

Each pillar is how the work gets done. The CH2O manifesto below is why — and how we carry ourselves while doing it.

The CH2O manifesto

Principle

Truth is freedom.
It is being yourself with no exceptions.
That is where art is found.

Conduct

The prize is the work, not the praise.
We stand tall when standing is hardest.
We offer our palm up — open, one-handed.

Working together

Who this is for.

The commitment

I take one client at a time. The whole point is to give the work everything I have. No juggling. No half-attention. One business, fully in.

The fit

GrowPhase works with owners of small businesses doing $500K to $5M in revenue — typically B2B, product or service — who are ready to bring on serious fractional support. Owners who are tired of doing the work themselves and tired of advisors who won't.

If you've never made payroll, this isn't the right fit. If you're a seven-figure operator who needs someone in the trenches with you — it probably is.

How it works

  • We start with a 30-minute fit call. No deck, no pitch — a real conversation about your business.
  • If there's a fit and I'm available, I send a tailored engagement scope. Format and investment are shaped to what you actually need.
  • Engagements are fractional and ongoing — I sit beside you, not above you. Sleeves up.
  • No long contracts. No agency layers. One operator. The work, not the praise.
